CARI welcomes both a new General Manager and National Head of Therapy
During 2020/2021, the Board of CARI sought applications for the positions of General Manager and National Head of Therapy
General Manager – Colm O’Brien
Colm O’Brien, former CARI Board Member with seven years voluntary service, was appointed in late May 2021 following an open recruitment process. With a management career spanning more than four decades, including having served as General Manager of Bewley’s of Grafton St and stepping into the Chair of his own school meals business, it was deemed Colm had the necessary experience, capacity and indeed understanding of CARI to help steer it forward to a new place – a place where CARI can see more children affected by CSA sooner after disclosure.
National Head of Therapy – Emer O’Neill M.Sc. in Systemic Psychotherapy
With a Masters in Systemic Psychotherapy, as well as twelve years working with children, adolescents, families and individuals, along with fifteen years management experience, the Board appointed Emer to the role of National Head of Therapy in July 2021. Emer brings a wealth of psychotherapy and management experience to CARI and is tasked with clinical oversight of the day to day operations, along with reviewing and enhancing where opportunities exist, the CARI model of working, again with the organizational goal in mind, see more children affected by CSA sooner after disclosure.
